Senior Nights!

Had a great time at the Senior Happy Hour tonight. it was a time for all my friends to come together, have a few beers and relax while spending the last few days together. It was nice to go to Kelley Coffee House and have a few beers with friends as the semester is winding down.

They had a slide show going where we could watch all the memories of good times we had. We got to see funny pictures of friends from freshman year and we had a toast to the senior class. It was werid to be involved in this because I never thought I would be involved in Senior stuff.

The Senior Reception is this Thursday where we get to have a gathering with Anne Steele and we get to have a class picture together. Its really hard to believe that the school year is slowly coming to an end. Senior year of college is almost over and im making sure Im making the best of it!

WMCO

Today was my last time on the radio as DJ Kay. I never thought it would be this hard to no longer do radio. Radio was an experence i wanted to have but it became a way of life. I have meet many life long friends at the radio station. It has been a job oportunity the past 3 years. It has made me a better person on the inside and out. Im gonna miss it so much.

As I said good by I started to tear up alittle.  When I looked at my phone I saw two text meassages one from but dad and one from my boyfriend. they bothe said how proud they were of me and that they were gonna miss listening to me on the radio.

I think its gonna be really hard when I come and visit and all my promos are gone and everything I represented will no longer be present. Im planning on coming back for Muskie Homecoming to visit my friends and see the station to see how much it has grown. Seeing the station in a hear will be difficult but I knew this day was coming.

Beyond The Headlines

Today was my last Beyond the Headlines that I produced for a class. I have done three of them throughout the semester and it was rather difficult to do. It was also very exhausting to get people to come to an interview on the radio and then edit it down and have a nice piece of audio to air on WMCO.

This edition was about what to do for summer when it comes to safety, internships and summer jobs. We had three interviewees come in to discuss that options Muskingum offers the students and even alumni that have graduated from Muskingum. It was very informative overall and I was glad that out lat Beyond the Headlines went off without any problems.

Our other two Beyond the Headlines were about Facebook and jobs as well as gambling within the Village of New Concord and the surrounding area. I'm glad that I have these in my resume of work I have done while here at Muskingum. Well off to my last radio show of my Muskingum University career. Check back for a post on in the hours to come! DJ Kay out!

Vacation

One thing I am really excited for is that in a little bit over a year I might be going on my second cruise. I'm am super excited. The first cruise I went on was a total blast! Wen went to Cozumel Mexico, Belize Mexico, Isla Routan Honduras and Grand Cayman B.W.I. It was a trip of a life time and I will never forget it! I cant wait to go on the next one with my whole family.

As a one of my graduation presents from my boyfriend we will be going to Mohican Lodge for a weekend and I'm so excited! This is a new place for us to go to and its a new place for us to explore together. We have gone to Salt Fork and to Amish country but this is a new place for the both of us.

This summer is going to be a new thing for me. I get to go back home and be with my family. I hope that I get to be out of the house in a year or so but I know that I have things I have to take care of before I move out.Well tomorrow is my last radio show. Its really sad to know that but I knew that it would come to an end.

The Shadow Knows...

Today was my final project for my advanced audio production. We had to put on a radio drama which aired on WMCO and also could be viewed live. It was something cool to be a part of because WMCO doesn’t put on radio dramas anymore and it was nice to be a part of something that is so rare. It’s possible that we started something new for WMCO to do.

I was the Foley Director. I was in charge of creating the sound effects in the live production.  This was a little bit difficult because it was hard to execute the sounds in person. I had to make a seagull noise with a dog toy, a gunshot noise with 2 blocks of wood and I had to have the sound of wind by using a wind machine. Over all it was a good experience.
We have been working on this for many weeks. We had auditions and have had practices. I have recorded different noises and tried to figure out different noises that could work for the plays. We ended up doing 2 plays from The Shadow plays. We also had the play A baby from Krypton. It was a class bonding thing that we all grew together as a class. We have had a rough semester and we are all glad that this part is over.

Muskiepalooza

This past weekend was Muskiepalooza!! My last MuskiePalooza to be exact…It was a very very busy weekend. First I went to Muskiepalooza day time and I got to play games and win tickets and I made paint splatter glasses and I tie dyed a shirt. I got to spend the whole weekend with my boyfriend and he got to partake in my last Muskiepalooza. The daytime Muskiepalooza wasn’t the best we have had but it was certainly fun and a thing to remember.

I didn’t go to the Mike Posner concert for Muskiepalooza night time. It wasn’t really my thing so I decided on having a relaxing evening. After Muskiepalooza I went to Zanesville and went shopping.  I got to have a nice dinner out with my boyfriend. Sometimes it hard to be apart from my family and friends but I know that I will be coming home soon enough.
I went camping with my boyfriend and had a great time. My family has a camper out at Seneca Lake and it was nice to get away from Muskingum and school work for a little bit. I worked on my graduation announcements which was a little sad because I know I'm almost done with school. I can’t wait to go home and spend some quality time with my family.

Last Full Week of Classes

This is the end of my last full week of classes as a Muskingum University student. And let me tell you it has been exhausting. I have never wished for school to be done so much before. But I know that the more I wish for school to come to a close I know the sooner it will be over and I’ll miss it. When I start seeing posts a Facebook come August that reads “back to Muskie Land I go!!!” I know it going to be very hard.

I have had so much work to do this week. I just finished a paper that is due today. And I finished it with a total of 13 pages. This paper had to be worse than my senior seminar paper. It is just the lack of motivation to get things done right now. I have a serious case of senioritis. But luckily it was a paper on Disney movies. But it was still hard to write

This weekend is a very busy but fun weekend. It’s Muskiepolooza!!! I love Muskiepolooza day time! It’s fun to be a kid again! But I also have to work and hour of it. Then my boyfriend is coming down to visit me and we will be going camping Saturday night! But I will be working on my graduation announcents…YAY!!! The only way I can think about ending this is that….I need a vacation!!!!!
